CPSC eFiling – Intended Use Codes

This article provides a quick reference for the Intended Use Codes used during CPSC eFiling.

ℹ️ Note

Intended Use Codes consist of a 3-digit Base Code and a 3-digit Sub Code (Base.Sub), for example 130.000. If no specific sub code applies, use the Base Code followed by .000. For the complete list across all PGAs, refer to Appendix R – Intended Use Codes for ACE.

CPSC describes this list as non-exhaustive. Always verify Appendix R when uncertain.

Consumer Use (130.xxx)

CodeDefinition
130.000General consumer use.
130.001Infants (0–18 months).
130.002Toddlers (19–36 months).
130.003Children (3–6 years).
130.004Older children (7–12 years); verify wording before filing.
130.005Children up to 12 years; verify wording before filing.
130.006Age 13+; required for Disclaim B.
✅ Tip

Most consumer shipments use 130.000 or 130.006. Use age-specific codes only when appropriate.
Warning

130.006 is the only permitted Intended Use Code for Disclaim B filings.
