Connecting Wix to ShipSavvy

Integration Setup Guide

ShipSavvy doesn't have a direct Wix connection yet — but ShipStation gets you the same result today, acting as the bridge between the two. Setup takes about 30 minutes. Run the test near the bottom of this guide before switching your live orders over.

Wix → ShipStation → ShipSavvy (rates & label) → ShipStation → Wix

Orders travel left to right. Tracking and the "Fulfilled" status travel back the same path.

ShipStation only moves the order data — your rates, labels, carrier choice, and support all come from ShipSavvy.

Before You Start

  • Admin access to your Wix site with Wix Stores turned on
  • A ShipStation account — plans start around US$9.99/month with a 30-day free trial (confirm current pricing at signup)
  • Your ShipSavvy account, which we'll have already set up for you
  • This setup is supported for stores based in Canada, the US, the UK, and Australia

Setting Up the Connection

Step 1 — Create Your ShipStation Account

Sign up at shipstation.com and choose the lowest-tier plan — you're using ShipStation to move order data, not to buy postage, so you don't need anything more. Finish the setup prompts and verify your email.

Step 2 — Connect Wix to ShipStation

⚠ Do this before Step 3

ShipSavvy pulls its list of stores from ShipStation, so your Wix store needs to exist there first. Doing it in the other order returns an empty list — this is the single most common setup mistake we see.

  1. In your Wix dashboard, go to the Wix App Market and search for ShipStation.
  2. Add the app and authorize the connection to your ShipStation account.
  3. In Wix, confirm your business address is filled in under Settings → Business Info — ShipStation needs this before it can produce labels.
  4. Back in ShipStation, go to Account Settings → Selling Channels → Store Setup and confirm your Wix store shows as connected.

Your past and existing Wix orders import automatically. Running more than one Wix site? Repeat this step for each — every site shows up as its own store in ShipStation.

Step 3 — Connect ShipStation to ShipSavvy

  1. In ShipStation, go to Account Settings → Account → API Settings and copy your API Key and API Secret.
  2. In the ShipSavvy portal, go to Integrations and paste both values in.
  3. Click Test Connection to confirm it authenticates, then save.
  4. Click Fetch Stores — your Wix store should appear in the list.
  5. Select your Wix store (and any others you'd like synced) and save.

From here, ShipSavvy pulls in new orders on a regular schedule. Need an order right away? Use Manual Sync instead of waiting for the next cycle.

Step 4 — Set Up Customer Emails

Avoid sending two emails

ShipStation's customer emails are on by default, and Wix can send its own too. Leave both on and your customer gets two shipping emails for one order — one of them branded ShipStation instead of your store. Pick one system before you go live.

Recommended: let Wix handle the emails so they match your branding.

  1. In ShipStation, go to Account Settings → Selling Channels → Store Setup.
  2. Select your Wix store, then open the Emails tab.
  3. Uncheck Shipment Confirmation, Estimated Delivery Date, Out for Delivery, and Delivery Notification.
  4. Save — Wix is now the only system emailing your customer.

Prefer ShipStation to send them instead? Leave those checked, and make sure Send Shipping Confirmation Email is unchecked on the Wix side when orders ship. Either way works — just pick one.

Step 5 — Confirm Tracking Flows Back to Wix

Two settings control this:

  • Notification timing — in Store Setup, set updates to send immediately when a label is created, not on a delay.
  • Per-order override — under Other Shipping Options, make sure "Do not notify marketplace" stays unchecked. If it's ticked, Wix never gets updated, and even a later manual resend won't fix it.
What reaches your Wix orderSent back?
Order status (becomes Fulfilled)Yes
Tracking numberYes
CarrierYes
Item informationYes
Shipping service levelNo
Carrier feeNo
Note to buyerNo

Note: a Wix order marked "On Hold" has no matching status in ShipStation, so that state won't carry across.

Testing Before You Go Live

Run a Test Order

Place one real, low-value order and follow it end-to-end. Work through this list in order — wherever it breaks tells you exactly which step to revisit.

CheckWhere to lookWhat good looks like
☐ Order reaches ShipStationShipStation → Orders → Awaiting ShipmentCorrect address and items
☐ Order reaches ShipSavvyShipSavvy → OrdersSame order visible (use Manual Sync if needed)
☐ Rate and buy the labelShipSavvyRate returns, label prints, tracking number generated
☐ Tracking lands in ShipStationShipStation → ShipmentsRow shows tracking number and correct carrier
☐ Marketplace notification succeededShipStation → Shipments → Marketplace Notified columnShows "sent and delivered" — the single most important check
☐ Wix order updatedWix Dashboard → OrdersShows Fulfilled with tracking attached
☐ Exactly one customer emailBuyer's inboxOne email, your branding — not two, not ShipStation-branded
☐ Tracking link is correctClick the link in the email and on the orderOpens the correct carrier's tracking page

If the marketplace notification fails

Open the shipment in the Shipments tab and click Notify Marketplace to resend. Still failing? Confirm "Do not notify marketplace" isn't ticked on that order, then send us the exact error text from the Marketplace Notified column.

Run a Batch Test

Once one order passes cleanly, run a batch of 10–20 more. Include a mix of:

  • Domestic orders and any cross-border destinations you actually ship to
  • Every carrier you plan to use (tracking links are carrier-specific)
  • A multi-item order and a single-item order
  • Orders from more than one storefront or collection, if you run several
  • One order shipped to an individual and one consolidated drop, if you do both

Let us know which carriers you're planning to use so we can confirm tracking-link mapping before customers see them.

Known Limitations — Worth Reading Before Go-Live

  • Shipping service level, carrier fee, and note-to-buyer don't travel back to the Wix order.
  • Wix's "On Hold" status has no ShipStation equivalent.
  • An open, unpaid Wix invoice can sometimes hold up store syncing. If you use Wix invoices with payment terms, let us know so we can watch for it during testing.
  • Order sync runs on a schedule, not instantly — Manual Sync is available anytime you need orders right away.
  • This route has more moving parts than a direct integration, since orders pass through two systems instead of one. That's exactly what the test above is designed to confirm on your real orders before you rely on it.

If Something Isn't Working

SymptomFirst thing to check
No orders arriving in ShipStationConfirm the Wix store still shows as connected under Store Setup, and that the orders are paid.
Orders in ShipStation but not ShipSavvyRun Manual Sync, confirm the store is checked in your linked stores, and use Test Connection to verify the API credentials.
Tracking not appearing on the Wix orderCheck the Marketplace Notified column first, then the "Do not notify marketplace" checkbox on that order.
Customer got two emailsShipStation's emails are still on — uncheck them in Store Setup → Emails.
Customer got no emailBoth systems are switched off — turn one back on.
Tracking link opens the wrong carrierSend us the tracking number and order — this is a mapping issue on our side and we'll fix it.

After Testing, Send Us

  • A screenshot of the Wix order showing Fulfilled with the tracking number
  • A screenshot of the ShipStation Marketplace Notified column for those shipments
  • Roughly how long each hop took — Wix → ShipStation, and ShipStation → ShipSavvy
  • Any error text, exactly as it appeared
